After adding new device and giving a name for your new device, you will be directed to configure the Wi-Fi Access for your new Themo.
Themo requires an internet connection to perform full functionality. In order to connect Themo to your home WiFi follow the onscreen instructions of how to enter your Wifi credentials into the device.
You can always start this process anytime with the device you have already added by navigating Device > Settings > Configure Device > Wi-Fi Settings.
Important! Make sure you have your home WiFi name and password at hand before proceeding.

Instructions to configure Wi-Fi access first time
Step 1: Open the Wi-Fi Settings in the app
- In the app navigate to Wifi Settings: Device > Settings > Configure Device > Wi-Fi Settings.
- Or open the Wi-Fi settings from the shortcut below
Step 2: Go to phone Settings
Open the Settings menu from your mobile phone. This may look different depending on the Android model you have.
Step 3: Find phone Wi-Fi settings
- From the phone Settings menu select Wi-Fi & internet settings and then open Wi-Fi settings. You need to find the place where all available Wi-Fi networks for your phone are being listed.
Step 4: Connect to Wi-Fi named "Themo-xxxx"
- Connect to the Wi-Fi network named eg. 'Themo_xxxxxxx'. This is a temporary Wi-Fi broadcasted by your Themo. If you are installing multiple thermostats then make sure other Themos are powered off in order to avoid confusion.
Important! You will be connecting to a device without internet connection. Some Android models may warn you about this and disconnect automatically. To avoid this turn off your mobile data connection beforehand. If prompted to stay connected then select Yes. If you are using VPN, turn it off for the configuration process.
Step 5: Return to Themo app
- When connected, return to Themo app and if successfully connected then the connection screen will turn green and you can continue the configuration process.
Step 6: Allow access to Wi-Fi
- In the following step pick your home Wi-Fi name from the dropdown list and then enter the password for this Wi-Fi network.
- If you don't see your home network from the list then make sure your home Wi-Fi name is being broadcasted and that there is sufficient Wi-Fi coverage where Themo is being installed.
- Your home Wi-Fi information will be safely stored only in your device and not in the cloud.
Note! Your home Wi-Fi must broadcast it's name for the Themo to see it.
Step 7: Finish the setup
- When the Wi-Fi name and password are successfully entered and saved then Themo will stop broadcasting it's own Wi-Fi and will connect to your home Wi-Fi.
- It may take up to 1 minute for Themo app to show it is online.
That's it. You can now return to Themo app and continue with setting schedules and controlling your device.
Instructions to re-configure Wi-Fi access
Step 1: Open the Wi-Fi Settings in the app
- In the app navigate to Wifi Settings: Device > Settings > Configure Device > Wi-Fi Settings.
- Or open the Wi-Fi settings from the shortcut below
Step 2: Put device into configuration mode
- Themo has to be in Configuration Mode to have the Wi-Fi available for your phone to connect.
- To put Themo into configuration mode, you will need to perform a factory reset which delete previous Wi-Fi settings

Step 3: Configure Wi-FI access again
If Themo is in configuration mode and you cannot find Themo wifi, make sure you are using a device that is capable of detecting Wi-Fi networks (e.g. smartphone or a laptop). Then turn your Wi-Fi off and on again to refresh available Wi-Fi networks. If there is still no Themo Wi-Fi available, contact us at [email protected].
