Can Themo be surface mounted?

Some thermostats are surface mounted which make installing Themo Wall Thermostat little tricky. It is possible to achieve clean installation with surface installation casing (e.g., Schneider Electric Exxact 35mm frame).

Here is a sample how to guide: 

Materials & Tools Needed:

• Surface installation casing (e.g., Schneider Electric Exxact 35mm frame)
• Screwdriver
• Drill & wall anchors (for drywall installation)
• Screws
• Wire stripper
• Level (optional)
• Themo wiring guide
• Pencil for marking

Installation Steps:

1. Power Off

Turn off power to the thermostat from the circuit breaker for safety.

2. Remove Old Thermostat

• Remove the old thermostat from the wall.
• Label the wires to remember their connections.

3. Prepare Wall Surface

• Ensure the existing wire hole is centered.
• Adjust wire length as needed by trimming or stripping.

4. Install Surface Casing

• Position the surface installation casing over the wire hole.
• Mark the screw holes on the wall.
• Drill holes and insert wall anchors if required.
• Secure the casing to the wall with screws.

5. Wire the Themo Wall thermostat

• Follow the installation steps from Themo installation manual. (Step 5).

6. Final Adjustments

• Make sure the thermostat is level and sits flush against the casing.
• Clean up any debris.
